Why do airport security checks require electronic products to be scanned separately?
Many of us have had this experience: after unbuckling our belts, taking off our shoes, emptying our pockets, taking out our liquids, and thinking we’ve finally made it through, we then remember that our laptop is still in our hand luggage and we start rummaging through our luggage to get it out before it reaches the X-ray scanner. It’s a pretty annoying part of the security process, but why do electronics have to be scanned separately from your luggage?
The answer lies in the density of electronic products. Due to the large number of parts and complex structures of electronic devices such as laptops and mobile phones, they may block or interfere with the scanning of other items in the luggage, allowing items under electronic products to escape the X-rays emitted from the top of the scanner.

In addition, security personnel only have about 3 seconds to view each scanned image. In order to carefully check high-precision items, it is best to scan them separately to avoid missing prohibited items hidden in electronic products.
